The legend of the Loch Ness Monster has gained another entry for 2025, with a recent sighting officially recognized as the fourth of the year.
According to reports, Peter Hoyle was visiting the iconic Scottish loch on October 15th when he noticed something unusual breaking the surface of the water. He described seeing “a dark shape” that appeared suddenly and moved “fairly quickly” across the loch before disappearing beneath the waves just short of the shoreline.
Though the encounter lasted only about 30 seconds, Hoyle managed to capture a photograph of the anomaly, which he later submitted to the Official Loch Ness Monster Sightings Register. His account and photo were deemed credible enough for inclusion, marking the fourth officially logged sighting of 2025.
This year’s tally has already surpassed 2024’s count, which ended with just three recognized sightings—the lowest annual total in more than a decade. With several weeks left in the year, believers and curious onlookers alike will be watching closely to see if Nessie surfaces again.
